The WARC medium published “The Marketer's Toolkit 2023: Future of Digital Commerce”, a report that highlights the importance that retail media and social commerce will have for ecommerce in 2023. The report compiles information provided by more than 1,700 marketing professionals in a global survey. This report offers a guide for business owners to focus, survive and prosper in the world of e-commerce in the coming year. The Marketer’s Toolkit 2023 The aforementioned report explores the union between marketing and commerce by examining the future of ecommerce. This allows brands and professionals to know the market trends for next year. So that they can focus their efforts on key areas to undertake truly efficient strategies that drive their growth and ensure their success. As well as improving their knowledge of the opportunities that digital spaces offer and how they can benefit from them. Regarding media retail as a growth opportunity for ecommerce, Gregory Grudzinski, Head of Content for digital commerce at WARC, points out: «The world of retail has been transformed with the shift towards electronic commerce. Changing the way consumers shop and becoming an essential part of the retail ecosystem. On the other hand, an increase in social commerce is also expected, as brands increase investment in platforms such as TikTok, Amazon and Instagram.

Likewise, it noted that 44% plan to increase investment in Amazon. The challenge for e-commerce in 2023 will be to understand how retail media and social commerce work to focus their strategies on these and boost their growth.A Christmas season with inflation is expected for e-commerce as a result of the volume of sales made during Black Friday and Buen Fin. Sales during this season recorded high numbers and online buyers took advantage of the opportunity to advance their Christmas shopping. According to the Expansión media, companies such as Amazon announced that they Telegram Number Data had had the best weekend of 2022. This was confirmed by Doug Herrington, Global CEO of Amazon Stores, stating: “This was an unprecedented holiday shopping weekend for Amazon.” For its part, Mercado Libre, one of the large regional ecommerce companies, noted that in just one day they obtained a record of 9,481 searches per minute.  As the report reveals, 76% of survey participants will increase their investment budget in TikTok in 2023.



This was 55% more than the average within the site, which represented the most important sale for the company. How do Black Friday and Buen Fin influence the inflation season for ecommerce? The success of sales during this season has a negative side for e-commerce. This is because it causes a phenomenon that became common in the United States and in Mexico is beginning to escalate in the digital environment. This is a drop in December sales. The market research company, eMarketer, reported that the behavior of American users in recent times suggests growing anxiety around prices. He also noted that inflation will lead to more bargain shopping and the need for discounts. Regarding inflation for e-commerce, Inegi reported that although it fell to 7.8%, e-commerce is expected to have a 'flatter' December. However, the outlook is encouraging for 2023. This is demonstrated by research carried out by eMarketer and Statista, which indicates that online retail sales will reach 6.51 trillion dollars by 2023 and that e-commerce websites will represent 22.3 % of total retail sales.
