To open the scene manager, select Window > Scenes from the top menu bar. Section plans Styles menu and active section plane in SketchUp; D model by John Luttropp, available at D Warehouse It is practically the same to create a plan view and create sections in LayOut; both are done with the Section Plane tool. Section planes make cuts in the model to show a cross section of the walls and interior spaces. Select the Section Plane tool ( Section plane tool icon ) and click on a model surface to orient the section cut. Use the Move tool to move the planes up or down, or from side to side. In the Styles menu, control the visibility of the section plane and turn slicing on or off. Pro Tip: Add all your section shots before saving any scenes. Section planes added after you define a scene will be displayed in each previous scene; you'll need to go back and hide the section plane, as well as update each scene you've created. To avoid possible rework, create all the sections you'll need before saving scenes.

Styles Styles define the appearance of your model. Do you want to see materials, shadowed objects, or the entire layout in grayscale? Use styles to define the appearance of borders, section fills, colors, and materials. SketchUp offers a wide range of preset styles to meet your drawing goals. Style choices are preserved in each scene. After you've defined a style and saved a scene, your model will revert to that style each time you navigate back to that scene. Labels and label folders Label Menu in SketchUp; D model by John Luttropp, available at D Warehouse Tags Mexico Phone Number List let you easily turn  SketchUp geometries on or off depending on what you want to display in your D drawings. You can assign similar groups or components to a given tag to hide or show everything with that tag in a single click. A good example is the furniture in the model. You may want to display furniture on certain floor plans, but not in your sections. No problem! When creating a plan scene, leave the furniture label visible. When you're ready to set the scene for your section, simply uncheck the furniture tag before saving that scene. See a detailed description of how to prepare your model for LayOut in this SketchUp Skill Builder from YouTube.

Create a floor plan scene Plan view of a D model in SketchUp; model by John Luttropp, available in D Warehouse With all the prep work done and a professionally organized model to work with, you're ready to create your one-shot scene. From the Camera menu, select "Parallel Projection." SketchUp will have the “Perspective” option by default. Select "Up" from the standard views menu, also in the Camera menu. If you already created your first floor section plan, make it the active section cut. If not, create that section now, cutting horizontally across the model and looking down, and position it to see the first floor of the model. Generally, a floor plan is drawn with the section plane four feet above the floor. Note: Manage your section cuts in the Styles menu. In your D documentation, you probably won't want to see the section plane, but when working with the model, it can be helpful to see the exact position through which you will cut into the model.
