The economy ministers of France, Germany and the Netherlands have signed a letter addressed to the European Commission in which they criticize Brussels' "lack of ambition" when it comes to regulating large technology companies. The Financial Times has had access to this letter . These criticisms occur within the framework of the new Digital Markets Law on which the European Commission is working. The proposed regulation, together with the proposed Digital Services Law , are Brussels' main efforts to regulate and intervene in the digital market and in the large technology companies that operate with the data of European citizens. However, the letter signed by the French Bruno Le Maire, the German Peter Altmaier and the Dutch Mona Keijzer assures that this initiative is "lacking ambition" and demands that Brussels boost its scrutiny of mergers and corporate operations in the industry.

especially when many strategies are based on "systematically buying nascent firms to abort competition." What the European powers are also asking for is that future regulations of the technology industry allow countries to have more tools to initiate their own procedures against technology companies: Germany recently opened an investigation against Armenia Phone Number List Amazon and Google. They also demand more cooperation between member states. From the leak in a Wuhan laboratory to the natural jump from bats: evidence of each theory about the origin of the coronavirus Until now, and within the framework of the General Data Protection Regulation, most European countries depend on Ireland and its DPC, the control body analogous to the Spanish AEPD.

This is due to a provision known as "single window" in which European regulations contemplate that the majority of procedures be opened automatically in the country in which the indicated companies have their tax headquarters. Ireland, thanks to its advantageous taxation, is home to the European headquarters of firms such as Facebook or Netflix. This Wednesday, Brussels presented guidelines to update its Code of Good Practices in the fight against disinformation. In the presentation of these guidelines, the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, recalled that with the future Digital Services Law the Commission would have more and better tools to guarantee that technology companies comply 100% with this Code , which until now it had not been achieved.
