It was Scott Munguía, who was still studying chemical engineering at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, who realized that avocado seeds have an element that can be transformed into biodegradable plastic or bioplastic.

This experiment was tested on fruit seeds such as mango and mamey, but none contained the necessary element.

They spent eighteen months of research in the laboratory and it was there that they found "the secret recipe." To obtain biodegradable plastic, the seed molecule is extracted, synthesized to become a biopolymer, molded and the plastic is obtained.
